As we honor the Winter Solstice and this shortest day of the year, Beth considers Wendell Berry's poignant poem, "To Know the Dark." In it, Berry asks us to "go dark" and find that the dark "blooms and sings." Yet for those of us who are hurting and grieving in our own dark times, it might seem impossible to accept the idea of the darkness blooming and singing. Take a look at Beth's reflection on the difficult but important challenge Berry is offering.
