Autumn Walk: Finding Sabbath in Nature
As the days grow short and temperatures cool, the natural world is preparing for a season of rest and renewal. In this time of focused attention on all it takes to thrive, join us for a contemplative walk and experience at Charmlee Wilderness Park in Malibu.
Time & Location
Oct 28, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Malibu, 2577 Encinal Canyon Rd, Malibu, CA 90265, USA
About the event
Wild spaces teach us so much about preparing for the Sabbath. Join Payton Hoegh, Program Director at The Center for Spirituality in Nature, and fellow spiritual seekers in examining what wisdom is gleaned through careful attention to the patterns and practices of the natural world. What can we learn from the plants, critters, and creatures in our own sacred landscapes about being present and open to the sabbath gifts of slowness, spaciousness, rest, renewal, and restoration?
We will meet in the Charmlee parking area off Encinal Canyon Rd. and enjoy a peace-filled walk observing some of the subtle signs of Autumn in Los Angeles’ Coastal landscape. Our time together will also include:
- Guided Meditation
- Solo Wandering
- Nature-based Spiritual Practice
- Community Conversation
Not near LA? Download our self-guided curriculum for a spiritual 2-3 hour nature walk to use solo or with a group. It suggests an agenda, spiritual practices, and appropriate quotes for experiencing and learning about Sabbath from the plants and animals you encounter on your walk through the local sacred ground. This agenda can be easily tailored to your own needs. Find it at: www.spiritualityinnature.org/self-guided-programs#guides
We do not want anyone to be unable to participate because of the cost of this program. Scholarship registration is available. Please email Payton for more information at: firstname.lastname@example.org
