
Everett Marshall, Board Member
Everett Marshall has served as the Vice President for People at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation since 2022 and has over 30 years of human resources, management, and consulting experience in both the public and private sectors. Everett believes in the power of openness, choice, and awareness and their impact on our interpersonal relationships, productivity and effectiveness. He believes we are at our best when we seek to inquire first, when we focus on the tangible outcomes that we wish to achieve, and when we engage the widest community possible in exploring creative solutions.
After serving as a Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy, he worked in the private sector with a global business consulting /IT services company focused on the development of recruiting and training programs, a consultant to several federal agencies in the areas of organizational effectiveness, facilitation, team building, leadership coaching, and stakeholder engagement/alignment, and has also served as a federal employee during his tenure as the Director of Strategic Outreach for the US Naval Academy.
An active volunteer and nature enthusiast, Everett is a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide who leads Forest Bathing (Shinrin-yoku) walks in the Chesapeake Bay region. Through this work, he helps others open the door to deeper connection with the natural world and the beauty of the outdoors. He is also the past President of the Board of Directors for the Chesapeake Bay Organizational Development Network and remains an engaged member of both the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT). Everett holds certifications as an Appreciative Inquiry Coach/Consultant, a Licensed Human Element Practitioner, and in the delivery of Emotional Intelligence Assessments.
